Every thing will be okay

Don't worry about a thing because a green heron on the wall will reassure you that things will be alright. https://toresimonsen.zenfolio.com/p11917117

New Controller for COD:M

Image
I am finally mobile. I picked up a blue tooth controller that I will try to pair with my phone or computer. COD:M has been a rush and now I can play it on the go as well.

Zombies FTW

Zombie Dice by Steve Jackson games is a great game to play with friends. If you are standing in line at a convention for gaming or popular culture event, it is easy to bring along and play with people while waiting for the big events to start. I've played Zombie Dice in hospitals, during hurricanes, and at the kitchen table with friends. If you want a game that is quick and fun, Zombie Dice is a sure bet.

Game boxes

A lot of games are distributed digitally these days. I own a lot of games on disks. Some argued that games were less buggy when they could not rely on day one patches. Q&A testing is critical to a successful launch. A long time ago, closed betas were truly difficult to get into. They were invite only opportunities for a very limited group of players. The playtesting was serious. There were activities that you did. It was not simply playing, but people instructed you what needed to be tested and you tested it. Your feedback was highly valued. There was still time for fun and games though.

Picking up a copy of TMNT & Other Strangeness

Image
There was a kickstarter for TMNT & Other Strangness. It is great to see the game come back into circulation. I already own a physical copy of the game and the source book was all you ever needed to play the game. The new edition features some additional supplemental material that will add to the excitement. You can have a lot of fun playing anthropomorphic martial arts animals. The character creation is flexible enough to allow you to create any animal you want. I hope the tarrifs do not impact the success of the kickstarter much. A lot of people dependant on kickstarters are worried that their initial goals will result in losses now that additional costs are factored in. This will likely slow the rate at which smaller projects are designed.

The greatness of roleplaying games

Image
Traditional pen and paper games changed with the emergency of technology. At the end of the day, the games are still about rolling dice and cooperative storytelling. Few things relax me as much as a session of dungeons and dragons. I enjoy the creative freedom of homebrewing my own campaigns. I built a "portable" digital table top which I connected to my laptop to project maps for my players. An old 720p television creates perfect size tiles for miniatures and makes for fun battlemaps. Although roleplaying games exist largely in the theater of the mind, battlemaps help organize combat. Whether I am a player or a dungeon master, I always have fun.

Kitchen table MTG

With all the emphasis on compeitive Magic the Gathering, people overlook the fun that can be had with kitchen table Magic the Gathering opportunities. Getting together with a group of friends to play Magic for a few hours is a great way to spend some time. Play groups often moderate their decks to ensure fun for everyone. In addition to that, players can create alternative formats (like Captain's Matches) that level the playing field. When you spend time playing games with friends, the emphasis is always on fun.

My battlestation

I use an Asus 5700G PC with 32gb of ram coupled with an Nvidia 3050 6gb GPU to play games, edit photography, write screenplays, create CGI, and stream. If you are selective in your gaming requirements, you can enjoy many great games that do not require bleeding edge hardware. There are many good indie titles worth checking out and older classics that can be played without expensive hardware. A desktop is uprgradeable in ways other systems are not. A set up like mine would cost well under $800 to buy.
